WASTED - Limited Edition Single

WASTED - Limited Edition Single

Fresh from their stellar performance at Splendour In The Grass, Skipping Girl Vinegar are catapulting into the second half of 2010 with the release of the brand new beast of a single; ‘Wasted’.

Inspired by a big night out at Melbourne’s famous Corner Hotel, live favourite Wasted makes its long awaited recording debut. In true indie hobo aesthetic, the recording features SGV playing alongside a drum kit found in a dumpster, trash cans, and other roadside hard rubbish. It was recorded in a beach house along the Victorian coastline and mixed in Nashville by US indie legend Brad Jones and hits radio Monday August 16th.

For the last several months the band have been bunkered down with producers Nick Huggins (Kid Sam, Seagull, Whitley) and Greg Arnold recording the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2008’s debut album Sift The Noise’. Wasted is a sneak peek of what’s to come on the as-yet-untitled sophomore album which is set for release in early 2011. To celebrate the single and shake off cabin fever, the band will be heading out on their September East-Coast ‘Drown It Out’ single launch tour.

One Long Week - OUT NOW - LIMITED EDITION! Single

One Long Week - OUT NOW - LIMITED EDITION!

‘One Long week’ is the first release from what will be part of Skipping Girl Vinegar's sophomore album. Working with Melbourne indie producer Nick Huggins, (Kid Sam, Seagull, Whitley) and Greg Arnold, the band have ventured into new territories whilst retaining their organic hobo pop aesthetic, uncovering a dark and overwhelming melodic classic.

Mixed in Jan 2010 in Nashville by American indie legend Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Bob Evans) who mixed SGV’s debut album, the new single ‘One Long Week’ uncovers the whirlwind of the previous year of endless independent touring and the release of their acclaimed debut album‘Sift the Noise’.

After returning from Nashville in Feb ‘09, SGV hit the road running and found themselves stumbling into a shopping centre overwhelmed by the presence of a giant polyeurathane reindeer that hailed the arrival of December and its associated Christmas paraphernalia. With this came the overwhelming realisation that an entire year had slipped into a vortex of what had felt like One Long Week.

Sift The Noise ALBUM /OUT NOW! with bonus library bag

This album was written, recorded and realised over a four-year period during the darkest of seasons, from Melbourne's winter of 2005 to its conclusion on a still, snow filled winter's day in Nashville, 2008. Recorded in bedrooms, kitchens, hallways and studios across Melbourne and a beach shack on the Victorian coastline, this music from cold places found its way to tape and into a world through the generosity, love ad support of many friends and loved ones. These 10 songs have traveled far from the humble beginnings of our bedrooms, rambling half way round the world to Europe and then on to North America before coming home. The day's dust has driven us to refine and sift these songs as deeply as we could, to find a way past the shadows and tricks of the light. We have grown by listening, sifting the noise that at times has overwhelmed and learning from those who have gone before. This album is dedicated to the inspiration, love and memory of Norman and Lorna Lang. You are loved and missed.
